Details of the 2010 Hampset Fast-Track Coaching
Programme have just been launched by Jon Solly, Cricket Manager and
it is great that Fast-track has been enhanced from previous and
successful years.
We are delighted that the club has obtained
financial support and pleased to announce that Mobilize
Consulting will be sponsoring the programme. The
generosity of Chris Book through his business Mobilize Consulting
has enabled the Club to make many improvements and keep the cost of
participation for the parents of the participants at a low
level.
Background
Hampset Cricket Club, through its junior section, is proud of its
ability to provide a safe and effective coaching and development for
all its young cricketers, all of which all have their talents,
without discrimination, and hopefully at what is considered a very
affordable price.
In 2004 we launched a programme to meet the needs of some of our
top performers and talents within the Junior Section and this has
improved and progressed each year.
The Fast Track provides an enriched experience where the
participants are able to work with other talented players in the
same environment, in which they can face greater challenges and
their talents stretched by each other and improved, hopefully
attaining higher standards.
The Fast-Track alumni includes Ed Lye, Seth Tapsfield and Alex
Lear who have progressed into first team cricket at the Club and
achieved other representative honours in the game.
What's New For 2009
An exiting addition to this year's programme are three fitness
workshop sessions. These will cover topics such as diet and
nutrition, the prevention of injury, core stability and maximizing
performance, These sessions will be run by Anne Solly, who has been
a full time fitness instructor for over 5 years, has delivered
successfully similar programmes and also has a good knowledge
cricket.
Coaches
Jon Solly will lead the programme and will be ably assisted by
Alex Lear, Mark Prentice and Anne Solly all of whom come with great
experience and appropriate qualifications to deliver
coaching.
Candidates and Cost
The age range for candidates is 10-14 and the selection process
for 2009 has been the most competitive ever. All of the active
managers and coaches in the 2008 season made their nominations,
which was over 25 and, with lots of thought and great difficulty, we
short-listed the names to 12.
We have written to the successful candidates for confirmation as
to whether their child wants to participate and we have a reserve
list in place, should any places come
available.
The cost of the programme is £25 per candidate whom will enjoy
16 hours of group coaching and 6 hours of fitness
coaching.
